Before you adopt

Will they get in my way?

They step aside for full-screen apps, calls and quiet hours, never cover the text you're working on, and only catch clicks on themselves. Flick one off your window any time.

Can they read my stuff?

No. They can't read your messages, email or other apps' notifications, and they never see your screen. Calendar details stay on your Mac.

Do the pets read my clipboard?

Only when you ask: with a hotkey, the pet menu, a Shortcut or the Services menu. Nothing watches it, and anything a password manager copied is refused.

Will a pet open or move my files?

A pet only points at a file. It opens one only when you double-click it, and nothing is ever moved, renamed or deleted. Dragging a file off a pet gives you a copy.

Does sitting up with my Mac drain the battery?

It only runs while a download or an AI agent is working. It lets go on a battery under 30%, in Low Power Mode, when the Mac runs hot, or after 4 hours, and says why. A closed lid still puts the Mac to sleep.

Will it slow my Mac down?

Pets stop drawing when nothing moves and nap more on low battery. Put them away from the menu bar with ⌃⌥P.

What if I ignore them?

Nobody dies, and missing a day never takes anything away. Cartoon disagreements can send a pet into its box for a while, then it comes home on its own. You can take a break whenever you like.

Does it work without the internet?

Yes. Pets, stories, Showtime, focus timers and local helpers keep working. Friends, live scores, exchange rates, headlines, weather, connection pings, site checks and new packs wait for Online mode.

Can they track my flights?

Soon. Flight tracking is built and coming in an update: check-in, gate changes, delays, take-off and landing, with the pets running the whole airport. Free and the Full household will track one flight a month; SI Pets Plus tracks every flight.

Can I move my pets to a new Mac?

Yes. On the old Mac, choose Export my data… in Settings › Backups. On the new one, pick that file from "Already use SI Pets on another Mac?" on the first screen. Nothing goes through our servers. Your Mac also keeps a backup every day (the last 7).

Is there a Windows, iPhone or Android version?

Not yet. Windows, iPhone, iPad and Android versions are planned, with no dates yet. Get notified.
